The Tornado Experts Once Again To Meet In Denver

Every February since 1998, storm chasers from all over the world have gathered in the Mile High City to share stories, techniques and talk about tornadoes — the most amazing subjects in the world of severe weather!

This year, the 14th annual gathering of these real life versions of the characters in the movie “Twister” will be here in Denver, and you are invited to partake in their stories and meet some of celebrities of storm chasing.

The 24/7 Weather Center and 7NEWS are once again the proud media sponsors of this year’s National Storm Chaser Convention being held from Feb. 17-19 at the Red Lion Hotel at I-70 and Quebec.

The convention is being put on by Colorado Storm Chasers Roger Hill and Tim Samaras for the 14th year in a row.

This Year’s Featured Speakers:

Roger Hill has personally witnessed over 600 tornadoes and is the author of a great book on storm chasing – HUNTING NATURE’S FURY.

Tim Samaras is one of the featured storm chasers from this season’s show on Discovery and has actually taken video from inside of tornadoes!

Every year, storm chasers from around the world gather to share storm stories, learn about new weather gadgets, and listen to talks on the latest in weather news from experts all over the country.

Guest speakers this year include Sean Casey from Discovery Channel’s Storm Chasers, Dr Greg Forbes from TWC, Dr Howie Bluestein, Tim Marshall from Vortex II, Rich Thompson lead forecaster from the Storm Prediction Center, Dr Jason Persoff (medical doc talking about Joplin first response), and several others.

Registration Information:

The price is $97 on line or $102 at the door which includes Friday’s ice breaker, breakfast Sat, banquet meal Sat and breakfast Sun. We expect 350-500 storm chasers/enthusiasts/spotters/meteorologists to attend.

T-shirts are available for an extra $15. There will also be dozens of storm chaser related vendors on site.

Sunday afternoon will also feature FREE National Weather Service basic and advanced spotter training.
