As the expression goes... April showers bring May blizzards around the State of Colorado. Though in this case, those showers are more likely to be in the icy, sleety, snowy form, at least this weekend across Northern Colorado.

Yet again, after a run of some pretty nice days, snow is again in our forecast, this time for Easter weekend.

Forecast models have a couple different fronts over Utah and Arizona mashing themselves together and moving north into our state, providing the northern mountains of Colorado with a decent brushing of fresh powder - for those ski areas still open for a few more weeks.

What that means for the Northern Colorado plains of Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland, etc. remains to be seen, but most forecasts are calling for a decent chance of snow on Friday and part of Saturday in our area, though how much will accumulate - if any - is still unknown.

Some forecast models have close to 3 inches piling up in Fort Collins, while others put it closer to a half inch. Some have it just sleeting a little bit - more rain than snow - which would be ideal.

The forecasted high for NoCo on Friday hovers in the mid-30s and bouncing back near 50 on Saturday, clearing out anything that's stuck to the ground the day before.

Then we bounce back into the 60s next week, hopefully without any snow in the forecast going forward this side of summer.

The mountains, however, could see up to a whopping 12-18 inches of new snowfall by the Monday after Easter!
