Weld County Warns of Concealed Carry Class Fraud
The Weld County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about the potential of fraudulent concealed carry classes.
A couple spent a few hundred dollars to take a CCW class online only to find out that the certification is not valid in the state of Colorado.
Weld County Sheriff's Office is reminding residents that would like to take CCW certification classes that Colorado law requires at least a portion of the certification classes need to be taken in person. Colorado state residents cannot participate in a CCW class that is online only.
Residents should also research companies before sending money for CCW certification and to be wary of companies offering free CCW certification. On average, CCW classes tend to be around 4 to 6 hours.
