Weather Concerns For Cameron Peak Fire, Still Zero Percent Contained
As of Saturday, August 29, the Cameron Peak Fire is still zero percent contained, burning nearly 23,000 acres. According to CBS4 Denver, of Colorado's four major wildfires, it is the only one that has no containment.
Now, a cool down with moisture may affect the wildfire over the next few days. As temperatures drop along the Front Range with thunderstorms expected, crews anticipate the impact the weekend forecast will have on the Cameron Peak Fire.
'Saturday will be an active weather day as widespread showers and thunderstorms develop,' authorities said. 'There will be good chances for wetting rains.'
Sunday, however, 'will be a heads up day as gusty prefrontal westerly winds around 35 mph pick up on the ridge tops while RH dips into the upper teens.'
Sunday's cold front is expected to produce more gusty winds. You can follow the latest Cameron Peak Fire updates here.
