Data show that 1 in 31 to 1 in 54 children in Colorado are identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD;) finding a safe, nurturing, and fun place for autistic children to go and play can be tough on parents. Northern Colorado will soon have such a place: a sensory gym.

What is the Sensory Gym Coming to Northern Colorado?

In early 2026, a couple from Northern Colorado acquired a franchise with We Rock the Spectrum Kids Gyms. As of the summer of 2026, there are over 200 We Rock the Gym locations in 35 states, with two already open in Colorado: Colorado Springs and Broomfield. The chain began in 2010 after the mother of a child with autism found out the gym she was using for private one-on-one sessions with an occupational therapist was shutting down.

Where Will the We Rock the Spectrum Gym Be in Northern Colorado

As of late August, Amber and Josh Geiwitz, owners of the Northern Colorado franchise, were still getting a location solidified.

What Will the We Rock the Gym for Kids Have When It Opens?

  • Inclusive Sensory Gym: Equipment will have 12 pieces of sensory equipment including swings, climbing structures, a zip slider, a trampoline, crash mats, a designated toddler area, imaginative play stations, and a calming room.
  • A Teen Area: A dedicated space designed just for teens to connect, socialize, and unwind. This area provides a comfortable setting for older kids to build friendships and enjoy age-appropriate activities in a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Therapy Hub: Designated rooms within our facility may be available for rent and use by local providers. The goal is to cultivate a supportive environment where families can access valuable community resources in a welcoming, inclusive setting.
  • The Rock Shop: An interactive retail space is stocked with developmental toys, sensory tools, and We Rock merchandise that kids love. From fidget toys and puzzles to apparel and keepsakes, The Rock Shop gives families the chance to continue learning, exploring, and having fun at home.
  • Birthday Parties/Events: Celebrate in style with their spacious party room. Host birthdays, camps, or special events in a safe, inclusive environment where kids can play, explore, and make memories. They also plan to offer seasonal celebrations, themed events, and teen programming.

How Much Will the We Rock the Spectrum Gym for Kids Cost?

For Amber and Josh, opening the gym is about helping out the ASD community in Northern Colorado.
