Volunteers Needed for Loveland’s Snow Squad
Northern Colorado has been experiencing a very mild fall so far, but as Coloradans know, the weather can change at just the snap of a finger. When the first winter storm does hit, and we wake up to snow-covered yards and roads, it's always good to be prepared. Unfortunately, not everybody is physically able to shovel their driveway or sidewalk themselves, or able to afford to hire a service to come and clear the way for them either. That's why it's great that the City of Loveland has their very own Snow Squad program, made up of volunteers from around the community who offer their assistance to residents in need.
Currently, Loveland's Snow Squad is seeking volunteers for the upcoming winter season. These volunteers will be matched to their chosen number of residents for the season, and are asked to shovel the sidewalks and a path to the door for any snowfall of two inches or more, within 24 hours of the end of the snowfall. The map shows which houses in the Loveland area are in need of a volunteer this winter. Volunteers are required to provide their own shovels. If you're interested in helping out the community by becoming a part of the Snow Squad, contact Hollie.Hill@cityofloveland.org.
