Volunteering Opportunities at the City of Greeley Museums
If you're a history buff who already has a fascination with old stories and antique artifacts, but are maybe looking for a little something extra to fill your spare time, then you might consider volunteering for the City of Greeley Museums. Whether you choose to volunteer behind the scenes or work directly with the public, you'll have plenty of opportunities to explore the past, while also learning new skills and giving back to the community at the same time.
Depending on one's interests, skills, age, and availability, there are a variety of different volunteering options to take part in between the city of Greeley's four unique museums. These tasks can range from being organizational and research-based, to actually getting into costume and participating in live demonstrations at Centennial Village. Other projects include helping to build, design and maintain exhibits, giving tours or assisting at special museum events, and cataloging and preserving artifacts. All volunteers receive the proper training and support required for their position, but it is helpful if candidates also already have basic office skills as well as good written, verbal and communication skills. It's important to note that certain activities do require volunteers to lift at least 20 pounds, work together alongside a team, and the ability to donate a minimum of two hours of your time.
As a volunteer you'll not only get to immerse yourself in all things historical, but you'll also get the chance to meet new people and learn a thing or two along the way. Plus, it feels great to be a part of the community and give back where you can, and this is the perfect opportunity to do exactly that.
