A few weeks ago, we reported that Joann Fabrics was closing their location in Loveland, one among many different stores that would be closing in the state of Colorado and in fact, across the United States as a whole.

At the time, the news was that the massive fabric and crafts retail chain was more than two billion dollars in debt and was closing a handful of stores as part of their effort to right the ship.

However there was a glaring omission from the list: the store in Fort Collins.

Unfortunately, that store is no longer off the list, as the company has now announced that instead of closing a bit more than half of their stores, the 82-year old retail chain will close ALL of their stores instead. This obviously includes the one in Fort Collins that has been doing business in the city for more than 20 years.

A final closing date has not yet been announced, but a recording on the store's phone line says that liquidation sales have begun. So if you need to stock up on fabric or crafting supplies, now is the time to take advantage of those savings before they're gone, as they will not be re-stocking any of their stores going forward.

Additionally, any gift cards for the store must be spent by the end of this month, so if you have any you haven't used, make sure you get in and use them before March 1.

The list of chains that have closed locations or have plans to shutter stores later in 2025 continues to grow at a rapid pace.
