Police were called to a Longmont motel Monday afternoon to investigate a possible child abuse case. They found a toddler with "significant injuries" and arrested a man, Cristian Hernandez on charges of attempted murder, child abuse, domestic violence and assault.

The child was found at the Lamplighter Motel at Main street and 17th Avenue after someone called 911. When the child was found he was having a hard time breathing and had "significant injuries."

The child was immediately rushed to Longmont United Hospital and then transferred to the Denver Children's Hospital.
