Colorado is filled with many wonders and hidden gems. It seems that one could go an entire lifetime and not really see everything that this incredible state has to offer. I have so many things to see and directions that I want to go in; it's almost a little overwhelming, and every time I check off a bucket list item or two, it seems like I find 10 more to add to the list...and I'm ok with that.

Something I've come to find out since moving here almost a year ago was that there is SO much more to explore and do than just scaling 14'ers and biking on the seemingly endless trails all over the place. While those are two of my favorite things to do when spending time outdoors, there are so many special and unique places to visit.

Whether it be a super cool museum, a quirky site or something haunted, Colorado is filled with places to keep even the pickiest person entertained and provide wow factors for all.

Here are just a few of the many just waiting to be explored that I came across on Instagram and a few others thanks to my friends at Only In Your State that I literally just put down for my bucket list.

Check them out, you may want to put them on your bucket list as well. In no particular order, they're listed below.

I'm going to start with a spot we actually already hiked to recently and highly recommend:

1. Mt Falcon Castle Trail

This trail is so great with views throughout the hike and there are two ways to get to the castle ruins. There's a longer trail (which we took by accident, which is about 7.5 miles) and shorter trail located on the upper parking lot which cuts the distance almost in half. It's in Morrison just South of Red Rocks.

Now onto the ones we haven't hit yet but plan to sooner than later:

2. Lizard Lake

3. Great Sand Dunes National Park

4. Bishop Castle

6. Colorado Gators and Reptile Park

7. UFO Watchtower

8. Hiking Mt Elbert (Colorado's highest summit)
