I finally got to see "The Social Network." Of course the movie is based on the founding of FaceBook.

Only 500,000,000 members so far. The latest word is three out of four Americans and one in thirteen, planet wide, have a Facebook presence.

I do! http://FaceBook.com/MichaelStoneMusic Sure go ahead and "friend me", why not ? Then you can find out all kinds of useless information about me. :)

Anyway, back to my review.

My first and enduring impression is that Mark Zuckerberg (co-founder of FaceBook) is a total uh.... how do I put this....? Ass !

I really like Jesse Eisenberg, but in this role, I found it difficult to watch him. The rapid fire and dismissive dialogue made it tough to like the guy. But, I guess that's the point.

Zuckerberg is not the kind of guy you'd like to hang with, or "friend.".

He's arrogant, self centered; albeit a genius. That doesn't make him the kind of person you'd like as your best friend, unless of course he's sharing his wealth with you. (:)

Listening to this movie is difficult. The dialogue is very brisk and sometimes, just seems mumbled. That doesn't mean it's not intelligent, but you really have to have yourself fixated to get the gist of what's being said.

With that, I'll tell you this is a fascinating look into the creation and the background to this entrepreneurial adventure that created what is now the most visited website on the web.

I'm not sure I recommend this movie. Even though I'm am the consummate geek.

Justin Timberlake has a small, sleazy role as the creator of Napster and an investor in the company. I am increasingly impressed by his performances in everything I've seen him in.

The other players in this movie are totally overshadowed by Eisenberg's performance, though I didn't find it engaging in the least.

Of course, the movie is already up for multiple awards.

So I guess in closing, I would say, see the movie, just don't expect too much. IMHO!
