I had no idea what to expect of "The Kids Are Alright", I hadn't even heard of the movie. (not sure how I missed it.)

It stars Anette Benning, Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo and two young newcomers.

It's about a couple of teens, 18 and 15 being raised by a lesbian couple. The kids want to find out who their biological father is and surreptitiously go about seeking him out.

At first all is going well as he's cautiously accepted into the "family." Then the dynamics change. I'll let you see for yourself where that leads.

I LOVED this movie. Mark Ruffalo's character is understated, but engaging nonetheless. Kind of an earthy guy who is engaging and very mellow. He takes to the teens immediately and works on building relationships with them, with success.

Anette Benning plays a harsh woman. while Julienne Moore is a bit more vulnerable.

The one thing about this movie is that characters are very real. No glamor. Just believable people that you could meet any day and who displays the faults we all posses.

I would suggest this movie, but bring the tissues. I've posted a trailer for you to take a look at.
