A wildfire started on Monday, September 20 off of the intersection of Stag Hollow Road and Glade Road located southwest of Fort Collins. The vegetation fire grew quickly with the 10 to 15 mile per hour winds and gusts up to 20 miles per hour at times.

Currently, the size of the Stag Hollow Fire remains at 17.6 acres burned with a total of 50 percent containment. Precipitation in the overnight hours helped fire crews on the scene to not allow the fire to grow any further according to Poudre Fire Authority.

A total of 60 responders from multiple agencies and two air resources have been working diligently to extinguish the Stag Hollow Fire. The two air resources consisted of single-engine air tankers made four drops of flame retardant on the area.

According to Larimer County Sheriff's Office, the voluntary evacuations for residents from Glade Road east to Rim Rock Valley Lane and West County Road 38E south to Muley Park Road. Those that have left under the voluntary evacuation order can return home.

As of Monday at 2:45 p.m. command of the Stag Hollow Fire was transferred to Poudre Fire Authority. Monday at 6 p.m. containment of the Stag Hollow Fire reached 50 percent. One crew remained on the scene in the overnight hours to monitor the area.

Larimer County and Poudre Fire Authority crews will be working throughout the day on the Stag Hollow Fire. More updates will follow as soon as information is available.
