Cameron Peak Fire Has Burned 7,050 Acres of Rocky Mountain National Park
The National Park Service reported this week that the Cameron Peak Fire has burned 7,050 acres of Rocky Mountain National Park. The fire made its way to RMNP on Sunday, September 6.
It took over "Cascade Creek, Hague Creek and Mummy Pass Creek in steep thick beetle killed forests with significant standing dead trees", according to NPS.
Trail closures continue to expand with red flag warnings in place through Monday, September 14.
The Cameron Peak Fire has burned 102,596 acres and is four percent contained with about 1,200 assigned to fight the fires in Friday's latest official update.
