Teen to Be Charged as an Adult in Kiaya Campbell’s Death

Kiaya Campbell was reported missing in Thornton on June 7th and the next day her body was found in a ravine. According to an Adams County Coroner's Office autopsy report she was beaten to death.

Two days after her body was found, a 15 year old suspect was arrested. The suspect lived in the same home as his mother was in a relationship with Kiaya's father. The 15 year old suspect is being charged with first degree murder of a child under the age of 12 by a person in a position of trust. According to the Adams County District Attorney's Office, the 15 year old suspect will be tried as an adult for her murder.
