Jason Phillips arrived in Colorado on August 10 and spent two weeks fighting the Cameron Peak fire before coming down with COVID-like symptoms at the end of his shift on August 25.
As if these Heroes haven't been working hard enough. Firefighters staying at the Stanley Hotel took to repaying the hotel with some free snow shoveling.
It has been more 70 days since the Cameron Peak fire ignited on the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests near Cameron Pass and Chambers Lake on August 13.
Loveland residents are being encouraged to find ways to help those affected by the fire in ways that will not take City employees away from their emergency response work.
