Stuff Your Face for a Good Cause: How ‘Great Plates’ Helps Larimer County
If you've ever wanted to try fresh seafood from Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar or a prime rib from Austin's American Grill, but couldn't quite afford to, then Great Plates of Downtown is for you.
Over 40 restaurants in the Fort Collins area will be offering multi-course meals for just $25 from March 1-14 as part of Downtown Fort Collins' Great Plates fundraiser.
All you have to do is show up at a participating restaurant (the list can be found here) and let your server know that you're there for Great Plates.
While this meal deal is exciting alone, the best part of the fundraiser comes after the food, when you have the option to make a donation to the Food Bank for Larimer County.
"The way that we're able to do a lot of this [distributing food] is through fundraising events such as Great Plates," said Paul Donnelly, the Communications Director for the food bank. "...that's a lot of work and effort and time that goes into that and that is only made possible by the support of the community and this [Great Plates] is a great example of what that support looks like."
In order to make a donation, simply write the amount you would like to give via the tip line on the 'Great Plates' envelope presented with your check.
However, the donation is not the same as a regular tip — don't forget to thank your server for all their hard work.
Your donation will help feed the thousands of food-sensitive people in Larimer County. Happy Great Plates.
