Students from the Art Institute of Colorado ran into some good luck today.

U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos made the announcement on November 8 that Art Institute students who attended the Colorado location between January 20, 2018 and December 31, 2018 will have their student loans cancelled and their Federal Pell Grant eligibility restored, according to a press release.

The Department of Education says that over 4,000 student loans will be cancelled. This is all because "students were harmed by the Higher Learning Commission’s classification of the institutions in a newly developed and improperly defined accreditation status after January 20, 2018", according to the release.

While Art Institute students rejoice, find out what other schools are affected by the student loan cancellations right here.
