Southwest Airlines Flying to Steamboat and Telluride Into June
Feeling the need to getaway? Steamboat and Telluride are beautiful places to visit, and not only for skiing. Southwest can save you time to enjoy.
Southwest started flying to Steamboat and to Telluride last in 2020, but they have recently extended the 'season' for those flights. According to the Denver Post, folks can now book flights through the first Saturday in June of 2021. Original plans had the flights stopping at the beginning of April.
I just checked prices, to fly from DIA to Telluride towards the end of May; I was able to find 'Wanna Get Away?' round-trip tickets for about $250.
After being cooped up for a year due to COVID-19, the idea of spending over five hours, up to seven hours, in the car to get away can sound painful. Taking a flight could give you ample time to actually enjoy some time off.
Both Steamboat and Telluride are majestic and have plenty of spring activities to do if you're not into 'late-season skiing. You could use your tax refund our your stimulus check for a nice little vacation.
May I recommend: In Telluride, walking around the town (not up at the top of the hill) and checking out all the great front doors the town has. I was there in the summer of 2020, and was really blown away; it was like some 'front door salesman' had come through town with a silver tongue.
