See Poudre Fire Authority’s New ‘Green’ Engine
Poudre Fire Authority is reducing its carbon footprint with new fire engines that you will be able to visit this week.
On Thursday, October 27th from 6-8 p.m. you are invited to Poudre Fire Authority Station 4 on 1945 W. Drake Rd. to take a look at the state-of-the-art "Green Star" engines. They use battery power, instead of fuel, when idle, resulting in less fuel burned.
The engines will call Stations 4, 6, and 8 their homes. The engine you can visit at Station 4 has a rebuilt engine and transmission which has resulted in a significant amount of money saved.
At the "Engine Open House" at Station 4, you will be able to take the kids to see the engine and get inside the new engine, learn how it works, the equipment it carries, and its role at Poudre Fire Authority.
As an adult, you will be able to see your tax dollars at work.
