Food trucks are becoming a big deal in Fort Collins right now.  So how cool is it that a charity organization is using this new trend to help people?

The Fort Collins branch of the Salvation Army is now running a food truck at Legacy Park, 300 Woodlawn Drive, that offers free lunches on Thursdays, starting at noon.

The truck is usually meant for emergency services in disaster situations; but the Salvation Army is happy to use it to offer other kinds of help in the meantime, according to the Coloradoan.

“A lot of people are having a hard time,” (cadet Shawn Keoho) said. “We just want to help them get back on their feet. We got this truck for disasters, but it’s a great way to feed the community. Come see us. We want to see how your spirit is doing and it’s completely free. You never say no to free stuff.”

Stories like this are so heart-warming.  I'm so proud to be part of this community!
