When people say Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the busiest tourist destinations in the country, they are spot on.

July 2019 experienced a record 976,042 visitors according to a Rocky Mountain National Park press release. In 2019, the park received a total of 4,678,804 visitors, a 44 percent increase since 2012.

All of this visitation must have some kind of effect on park logistics and maintenance right? Park managers continue to address visitor and staff safety along with resource protection.

Park staff are developing draft concepts to address the increasing visitor volume. These concepts will be shared with the public later this year and will involve a stakeholder-engaged planning process.
