Repeat Public Lands Offender Decides to Poop in Famous Colorado Lake

Despite being the founder of outwear company Virtika, David Lesh is much more famous for his continued disrespect of Colorado's public lands.

According to The Aspen Times, Lesh, 35, is currently involved in a court case regarding his alleged illegal activity in Hanging Lake and Independence Pass in 2019.

The publication reports that in an appearance with the U.S. District Court on October 2, Lesh agreed to follow the rules on public lands in lieu of the forfeiture of a $1,000 bond or arrest.

However, Lesh appears to have forgotten these conditions already.

On Wednesday (October 21), the provocateur posted a photo of himself seemingly defecating in Maroon Lake on Instagram.

The photo received mixed reactions on social media, including a comment from Dan Bilzerian that read "nice capture."

OutThere Colorado reports that visitors to the Maroon Bells area are required to poop at least 200 feet away from water in order to avoid disease and water pollution.

The U.S. Forest Service is currently investigating the circumstances behind the photo.
