If you've ever wanted to walk through a winter wonderland, you'll get your chance at RainDance Winterfest in Windsor this holiday season.

The inaugural event open to the public runs Wednesdays-Sundays from Nov. 27-Jan. 3 and is headquartered at Ted's Sweetwater Grill (2191 Covered Bridge Pkwy in Windsor).

The family-friendly event will feature a giant snowman and rocking horse, a skating rink, a life-size snow globe, curling lanes and many more attractions.

The Winterfest Grand Opening event will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27 with the ceremonial lighting of the covered bridge next to Ted’s Sweetwater Grill. RainDance developer Martin Lind will preside in the bridge lighting ceremony. Colorado Eagles mascot Slapshot will also make an appearance from 5-6:30 p.m.

“We want to end a really tough year with some feel-good stuff and really amplify Christmas for families in Northern Colorado,” Lind said.

“I’ve always been big on Christmas and the meaning for the season.”

Santa Claus and his reindeer will visit Winterfest from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18 and from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19. Santa will sit on an antique fire engine provided by the Windsor-Severance Fire Rescue where families can pose for pictures.

RainDance's trademark covered bridge and much of the award-winning master-planned community will be covered in holiday lights. RainDance Winterfest is also sponsoring Light It Up NoCo, contest rewarding $1,000 to the best holiday light design in Northern Colorado.

RainDance Winterfest attendees can also sign up to win $25,000 in prizes by touring model homes in the Windsor community.
