It's Paul Wozniak, your friendly neighborhood extreme sports crazed DJ. I love finding cool events and making you aware of them. Well, one of the BEST annual things is about to happen and I don't want you to miss it!! I am also glad to let you know that if you thought you couldn't go whitewater rafting in the Poudre River because it's too dangerous, or you're not good at extreme sports, or you can't afford it...those reasons are all bunk!! Just about everyone can do it (besides some disabilities and slight age limits, above 7 years old and seniors have to make their own decisions, the local companies do have trips for 'everyone').

Action!! Adventure!! Too much adrenaline for you? Well you can choose a leisurely float. The wonderful thing about whitewater rafting the Poudre River is that you can have it as tame as a lamb, or wilder than any lion that would wander into Fort Collins. Take your pick.

This video is an example of how high the river went last year...and there is more snowpack this year than last year...a LOT more.

If that scared you away, don't let it!! Just schedule a smaller trip. By the Fourth of July the level of the Poudre River is already going down. Call the raft companies and tell them exactly what you want out of the trip. They'll be able to guide you and they won't want to take you into a situation where you are terrified. They want you to have fun.

Whitewater rafting price ranges are in the $45 to $150 dollar range. Some sale prices are even better. Don't get me started on value again. Trust me, the value is there.

There are afternoon trips, full day trips, you could probably find an overnighter within driving distance if you really wanted to. The point is that Colorado is your Rocky Mountain Oyster and I think you should take a bite!!!!

Thanks so much to Bob Klein of A Wanderlust Adventure for the informative interview. Listen to this for great information about rafting the Poudre this spring and beyond.
