Official High Park Fire Information [UPDATED 5:45am]
HIGH PARK FIRE 55% CONTAINED
The High Park Fire has now burned 83,262 acres with 55% containment. The cost of the fire to date is at about $31.5 million dollars. 1,941 fire personnel, 13 Type 1 hand crews, 20 Type 2 hand crews, 170 engines, 11 dozers and 24 water tenders are working on the blaze. Air Resources include 7 Type I helicopters, 3 Type II helicopters, 9 Type III helicopters, and 5 heavy air tankers.
RED FLAG WARNING TODAY
Today, a Red Flag Warning has been issued (Tuesday 6/26/2012) from 12 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Dry lightning, gusty thunderstorms, winds and very low relative humidity are anticipated
DISASTER RECOVER CENTER OPEN ON CSU CAMPUS
The High Park Fire Disaster Recovery Center is open on the Colorado State University Campus at Johnson Hall. The center is open Mon-Fri from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
WILDFIRE SMOKE HEALTH ADVISORY
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and the Regional Air Quality Council have issued an OZONE ACTION DAY ALERT yesterday for the Front Range Urban Corridor from El Paso County north to Larimer and Weld counties, including the Denver-Boulder area, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins and Greeley. WILDFIRE SMOKE HEALTH ADVISORIES are now in effect until 4:00 pm today for Larimer County (including Fort Collins and Loveland) Weld County (including Greeley), and El Paso County including all of Colorado Springs.
