Mishawaka Reopens After Cameron Peak Fire Forces Evacuation
After the Cameron Peak Fire surpassed 100,000 acres this weekend, the Mishawaka Amphitheatre, west of Fort Collins in the Poudre Canyon, was forced to evacuate. Just two days later, Northern Colorado's outdoor music venue plans to move forward with shows this weekend as scheduled — thank goodness for weird early September snow.
'Great news, thanks to the snow and vigilant efforts of the heroes fighting the fires, the canyon is now open, up to Stove Prairie,' the Mishawaka posted on Facebook on Wednesday. 'With that being said, we are opening back up today and will hopefully be going forward with the weekend's shows as scheduled.'
The Mishawaka said that they are 'monitoring the situation closely,' and will follow the guidance of local authorities to keep everyone safe.
