Lucky's Market is now open and appears to be a perfect fit for Old Town Fort Collins.

The new grocer out of the old Sports Authority at 425 S. College Ave. welcomed its neighbors Monday with absolutely delicious samples every time you turned around. Lucky's will have an official grand opening with a bacon cutting ceremony — no ribbons here — at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. A Taste of Lucky's with more free samples is scheduled between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The store selection really impressed me. Not only do they have organic "for the 99%", but they also have local items as well. The store includes a cheese shop, made-to-order ramen noodles and sushi bar, a butcher shop with some of the best bacon you've ever had in your life, local craft beer, and a full salad bar.

The staff includes about 120 employees many of whom were personable and knowledge of the company, even on day one. I learned that the founders of Lucky's actually met in culinary school — Trish and Bo Sharon launched the chain in Boulder in 2003 and it now operates in 11 states. So, it makes sense that they have chefs IN HOUSE to make delicious food to-go.

Lucky's has a "Never-Ever" standard, which at first was extremely confusing at first because I had no idea what that meant. Luckily (ahh, was that too cheesy?), they had a sign that explain everything.

The ambiance also impressed me. Everything was so aesthetically pleasing; bright, happy, and there was an overall enjoyable shopping atmosphere.

Lucky's also likes to give back. They support local non-profits through 'Bags for Change'. All you have to is bring ANY reusable bag for your groceries and put that 10 cents toward one of three local non-profits you want to support..... And THEY MATCH IT.
As you can tell I'm incredibly impressed with this place. If you would like to take a look yourself, check the video below.
