Loveland Garage Fire with Ammo and Black Powder
A fire that broke out in a garage in Loveland on Sunday had extra challenges and led to minor injuries for one firefighter.
According to the Coloradoan, the fire that engulfed a detached garage on West 13th Street had ammunition and black powder inside. Greg Ward, operations chief for the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, told the Coloradoan that "the people that lived there reported that and that isn't all that unusual."
The report of the fire came in at around 4:29pm Sunday and firefighters had it extinguished in about 20 minutes. While no residents were injured, one firefighter was transported for what Ward called, "a medical issue." Ward also said "he's stable, he's being evaluated".
The cause of the fire is not known at this time and an investigation is under way.
