Will a King Soopers Be Coming to Loveland by Sam’s Club and Home Depot?
Folks in Loveland have been wanting a grocery store on the east side of town, for what seems like forever. One of Colorado's most popular chains could be eyeing a spot that's not at Centerra.
JAX in East Loveland Closing Down Before End of Summer 2025
By the middle of July, the JAX in east Loveland will officially have closed its doors after being open since 2008. The company felt that the JAX location on the west side of town was enough, especially with an Outdoor World coming to I-25 and Crossroads Boulevard.
A former Albertsons/County Market sits empty in east Loveland along Eisenhower Boulevard as travelers pass through town on the way to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. The building also once held an ALCO store in the 1970s.
In early 2025, it was announced that a King Soopers will be coming to far east Loveland, near the interstate. That will help folks who live in that ever-growing part of Loveland and Johnstown, for sure. One closer to the middle of Loveland would bring many smiles to "in town" residents.

If King Soopers does take over the spot being vacated by JAX, it will be a great spot. The building is quite large, large enough to become a grocery store. The parking lot is big, and it's fairly easy to get in and out of the area.
Loveland Doesn't Need Any More Empty Buildings
Not far from where JAX is leaving, you'll find a closed down restaurant, and a closed down motel. Both are becoming "eye sores" for the town; If JAX closes and nobody comes in, it'll be another "big empty" for the Sweetheart City. Hopefully, Kroger does pull the trigger and comes in.
