Love a Celebration? Join Loveland’s 4th of July Festival
America celebrates its 243rd birthday on Thursday, July 4, 2019. Loveland is throwing a huge party for it, with new additions, at North Lake Park.
Wow. Loveland has set up quite a day to celebrate America's birthday. There's going to be something for everyone that day. Bring your blankets, your family, and your thirst for fun out to North Lake Park.
The park will open at 10:00 a.m. that day, and the party begins. Here's what you can expect:
Buckhorn Northern Railroad Train Rides
The tradition continues- The Loveland Lions Club will take passengers from open until 5 p.m. for seventy-five cents a ride.
The Battle of the Bands
Who will win bragging rights AND THE CASH PRIZE this year? The battle (six bands) runs from 2 p.m. until 4 pm. at the Hammond Amphitheater.
The Cornhole Tournament
New this year- There'll be a cash prize for the top two teams in the 32-team single elimination tournament that begins at 2 p.m. near the Beer Garden. You can register ($30/team) HERE.
The Beer Garden
The Beer Garden will be open from 3 pm. until 7 p.m.
The Children's Bike Parade
New this year. This kind of takes the place of the Pet and Doll Parade that had its last event in May of this year. The parade is open to bikes, scooters, and wagons, for kids 10 and under. It will travel around Benson Sculpture Garden, with staging starting at 2: 30 p.m. It's free, but you should pre-register. You can do that HERE.
The Kid Zone
The Kid Zone will open at 2:00 near the train, with a slew of activities, including the 'Red, White and Blue Booth,' face painting, the city's recreation trailer (stocked with activities.)
The Burroughs in Concert
New (A Big Concert) - Out of Greeley, The Burroughs will bring their sweaty soul music to the Hammond Amphitheater starting at 6:00 p.m. Dale Cisek Band will open the show starting at 5:00.
The Fireworks Show - 9:17 p.m.
You are encouraged to walk to the park or ride your bike, with you can park on the west side of Loveland High School. LHS will also be home to $5 parking for the day (raising funds for school activities).
Keep in mind that 29th Street will be closed from Custer to Taft. There will be special needs/handicapped parking along 29th from Aspen to Taft.
You should leave pets, alcohol and personal fireworks at home. The Loveland Police and Loveland Fire Rescue will be on the scene.
