Estes Park is a great mountain town, and it's only about an hour away! I already mentioned the fun to be had wine-tasting in Estes Park, but that's far from all there is to do up there.

My wife Robyn and I stumbled upon Glassworks Studio and Gallery when we were in Estes Park doing some wedding planning.  What a fun place!  They have live glass blowing and sculpting demonstrations right in the middle of the gallery (behind a safety barrier, of course), where the staff walks you through the step-by-step process of making the beautiful pieces that surround you.  When Robyn and I were there, the sculptor made a glass chili pepper.  It was amazing to see a chunk of white-hot glass become something so elegant and beautiful.

Definitely bring this kids to this one.  They'll each get a free souvenir to take home!
