While you're going to find many, many places in Colorado, finding one that specializes in potato doughnuts are hard to come by. That's why the news of this shop in Downtown Longmont announcing that they're closing and moving hits hard.

Why is Landline Doughnuts & Coffee in Longmont Closing?

Landline Doughnuts & Coffee announced (about on June 15, 2026, that they'd decided to move closer to family in Washington State; with that, they were selling the building that they had their shop in. They said that they'd consider working with the new owner of the building if they wanted to buy the business, as well.

What Made Landline Doughnuts in Longmont So Unique?

Landline Doughnuts, about 25 miles south of Fort Collins' Krispy Kreme, specialized in potato doughnuts, which you do not find many shops doing; it's an "old-school" way of making doughnuts, where you use mashed potato, like they did back in the 1930s to stretch the family dollar.

The "old-school" carried on into the shop, itself. Landline was known for having a wall with actual landline telephones that actually worked and sign above them saying 'Call Your Mom."

Doughnuts and coffee can definitely remind you of Mom, having those landlines was a very sweet, nostalgic idea.

With any luck, I (and others who haven't been) will have the chance to check out Landline Doughnuts & Coffee before they close up shop on August 25, 2026. The thing is, they've only been open since 2022, but they seem to have garnered such a devoted following.
