Jennifer Lawrence Wins Best Actress at 2013 Oscars, Remains Adorably Human [VIDEO, GIF]
Jennifer Lawrence didn't beat Meryl this time ... but only because Streep wasn't nominated for anything at the 2013 Oscars. Instead, J-Law beat Jessica Chastain, Quvenzhané Wallis, Naomi Watts and Emmanuelle Riva to win Best Actress.
And she fell down.
Despite being the favorite for the category, Lawrence was visibly overwhelmed, tripping over what looked like her practice wedding gown on her way up the stage steps.
"Thank you! You guys are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell and this is really embarrassing," she babbled, clutching her trophy and trying not to cry.
"This is nuts," she gushed, before thanking her fellow nominees. "You were so magnicifent and so inspiring, and it's been so amazing getting to know you," she said of the competition she left in the dust. "Bradley [Cooper] and our entire cast, Chris [Tucker], Jacki [Weaver], Bob [DeNiro] and our crew ... my family," she stammered.
And even though she was the winner, she kept others celebrating in mind: Riva just turned 86 today. "Happy birthday Emmanuelle!" she cried before making her still-in-shock exit.
"Thank you so much!"
Okay, J-Law, that's enough. We already loved you.
