The Unbelievable Amount of Time the New Casa Bonita Will Need to Make Back $40 Million
The legendary Colorado restaurant Casa Bonita lives in the hearts of many, including Matt Stone and Trey Parker; they are the ones who invested $40 million to renovate the place.
Whether you've made it into the new Casa Bonita or are still on the "waitlist," the restaurant means at least a little something to you. It will take a lot of love for Casa Bonita for the South Park guys to make back their money.
Sure, you could say that they didn't do it to make money, but can you imagine having to wait as long as experts are saying it will take to break even?
Though the numbers may be lower by summer 2024, in the spring of 2024, there were 600,000 on that Casa Bonita waitlist—people all waiting to get an email saying they could come in, eat, and enjoy the new Casa Bonita ... for a price.
New Casa Bonita in Colorado, Expensive ... But
Some will say the price for dinner (or lunch) is worth it to see the $40 million renovation of the famous restaurant, try the food, and see all the fun things inside. A family of four, with two adults and two children, will spend over $130 (more with cocktails) for dinner.
If you want to spend more (by all means, do), you can get the VIP seating by the cliff divers, which runs $60 per person at dinner. Again, these prices can seem like a lot, but they're not out to make back that $40 anytime soon with those prices.

Will South Park Guys Ever See Their $40 Million?
Cracked.com says it's very unlikely that Matt and Trey will still be around by the time the restaurant has made back that $40 million. Cracked used public information about Casa Bonita and from the Colorado Restaurant Association to " crunch the numbers."
The Bottom Line for Casa Bonita Making Back That Money
According to Cracked.com, Casa Bonita would need to be running at max capacity, seven days a week, without any problems affecting profits to clear about $2,000/day in net profits.
That would mean that once Casa Bonita does officially open, it will take Matt and Trey more than 56 years to see that $40 million.
