Tired of Still Working After Your Shift? You Aren’t Alone in Colorado
We all need to make money to pay our bills, buy food, and keep a roof over our heads. This is why nearly everyone has a job and goes to work, and some are willing to take on extra hours to make some extra money. While some jobs offer overtime, other jobs are salaried and take advantage of it by having their employees work beyond their required 8-hour shifts. If you are someone who works past your scheduled shift in Colorado, you are not alone, and many are upset about having to do so in the Centennial State.
Many Never Stop Working in Colorado

While it may seem like fewer and fewer people are working and our society is becoming lazier, there are still those who enjoy working and who work far too often. Our society is currently an always-on culture where employees don't know how to turn off work or their brains. According to a recent study from discoverafrica.com, 87% of people say they work past their standard hours, with 38% saying they work one hour extra a day, and 16% saying they work three hours or more extra per day. Of those surveyed, 38% said they are stressed and have anxiety from being connected constantly, with 37% feeling burnout and 35% feeling overwhelmed from constantly being connected to work.
Employees Want to Disconnect in Colorado

With many employees never turning off their work mode, to what extent would they go to disconnect? 42% said they would spend $500 to disconnect for 5 to 7 days, 25% would spend $1,000, 12% would spend between $1,000 and $2,500, and 13% would spend over $2,500. 27% say they need to be in nature and surrounded by wildlife to escape and feel truly disconnected from work. Do employees feel safe disconnecting, though? 32% say they feel the best option to avoid burnout is to disconnect, with 31% saying they need to stay connected constantly due to their situation, and 23% say they need to push through the burnout.
