We all like to have fun in some form. For everyone, this looks different. Some find hiking or running fun; others enjoy playing video games or watching movies and being indoors. For some, fishing and hiking are fun, and for others, shopping and talking are fun. When it comes to entertainment, going to an arcade, a water park, a theme park, or sporting events and concerts is what some people need to have fun. No matter what you view as fun, we can all agree that where you live can dictate how much fun you have in life. When it comes to Colorado, is it a fun state, or is it boring to live in and visit compared to other states in America?

Nobody wants to go through life being bored. There are some places that there isn't enough to do, and other places offer so much to do that it can be tough to figure out what to do for fun each day. WalletHub recently released a new study ranking the states in the country from most fun to most boring and used categories such as entertainment, recreation, and nightlife to do so. Using these criteria, it was determined that California is the most fun state to live in, which isn't surprising. The Golden State has beaches, Disneyland, sporting events, concerts, bars, and plenty to do. The second most fun state is Florida, likely for many of the same reasons, and the third most fun state is Illinois. The most boring state is West Virginia, with Vermont being the second least fun, and Mississippi rounding out the bottom three. When it comes to Colorado, is it fun or boring?

Colorado might not be the most fun state to live in, but it does rank among the most fun, coming in at 6th. Colorado is 5th in the country in entertainment and recreation and 10th in nightlife. Part of Colorado's high ranking is due to the fact that it is tied for first in the country for ski facilities per capita and is number one in the country in personal expenditures on recreation services per capita. Colorado is also tied for first when it comes to state and local expenditures on parks and recreation per capita. The investment in outdoor and winter activities makes Colorado one of the more fun places to visit and live in the country.
