A recent poll found that Americans think it is pointless to change our clocks for daylight saving time. In fact, 70% of us want to get rid of daylight saving time altogether.

To be honest, daylight saving time feels like a complete waste, and it is pointless in the modern era. Daylight saving time was created for World War I in order to save fuel and energy costs.

So, what is the point of having it today? Are we stuck in the tradition forever? We are not. Some states across the country have eliminated daylight saving time entirely.

Here is where Colorado stands, according to WNEP.

Colorado is another state waiting on the federal government to enact permanent DST. In 2022, after years of failed attempts, the Colorado House unanimously passed a bipartisan bill that would make daylight saving permanent once the Uniform Time Act of 1966 is repealed.
