While ticks can be active in our state year-round, they're most common in Spring and the early summer months. That means it's time to do a routine check on Fido!

As if you weren't grossed out by ticks enough, according to The Spruce Pets, the bugs can cause infection, anemia, and transmit diseases to your beloved pup. So how can you catch a tick early on?

Thanks to Blue Sky Animal Clinic located in Loveland, there are places that you should check on your dog daily this summer to prevent tick bites. They provided a helpful graphic from the CDC on their Instagram page, encouraging dog owners to check areas like around the tail, in the ears, and under the collar.

Be diligent, and if you notice something amiss with your dog, as always, take them to the vet right away.
