The annual ritual of gathering with friends, family, and coworkers has begun, and authorities have begun intensifying their presence.

'Tis the season to be jolly, not in jail. For ten days this holiday party season,  the Colorado Department of Transportation, the Colorado State Patrol and law enforcement agencies statewide will be teaming up for heightened 'The Heat is On' DUI enforcement (December 7, through December 17.)

During last year's 10-day enforcement campaign, over 650 impaired drivers were arrested. That tells you that they ARE out there looking for drunk drivers. In a press release from CDOT, they share a stat: 50 people were killed on Colorado roads in December of 2017- 20% of those were due to a person driving under the influence.

Be smart. Stay safe. Keep others safe. Uber, Lyft, Ztrip, Yellow Cab- are all great options to get home if you've had too much.
