A Great Colorado-Born Pizza & Beer Spot Expands to 5 Locations

Colorado pizza joints can be found across the state. There are some that got their start in Colorado that we all know, like Beau Jo's, but there's a place that is growing that you may not have heard of.

Homegrown Tap & Dough Opens 5th Spot in Colorado

Maybe you feel like me, that you need to get out and expand your pizza horizons. There are a lot of places making great pies, that's for sure. This place, to me, has what we need more of in Colorado: Places that celebrate the state and have great food.

For a place that's been around since 2014, I wish I'd heard about Homegrown before I heard the news of them opening a new spot, in Parker. Parker is pretty far from the Loveland/Northern Colorado area, but with five locations I figured I see where else they are.

Colorado Pizza Joint Takes Over a Former CB & Potts Location

There was a time, that CB & Potts was one of the hippest restaurants around Colorado, after their first spot opened in 1974. I remember hitting up the one that was a Campus West in Fort Collins a lot in the 90s, while it was there.

In 2020, CB & Potts closed four out of five of their locations, leaving only the one at Collindale Golf Course in Fort Collins (which is still in operation.) One of their former locations, in Westminster, is now a Homegrown Tap & Dough.

The guys behind Homegrown Tap & Dough make a point to make their spots "feel" like Colorado. it's hard to say exactly what you might mean by that, but it's something "you know it when you see it;" sitting inside a gondola lift to dine, for example:

While Westminster isn't that far from Northern Colorado, I'm eager to see them open in the Fort Collins area with their next expansion. I'm thinking the former JAX in east Loveland would be perfect.
