Having a unique food truck in Colorado isn't out of the ordinary; having a place to call "home" with your food truck does qualify as "different." A food truck that servers Hawaiian doughnuts, "malasadas," in Loveland nabbed a great spot in 2026.

Building South of Lake Loveland Has Restaurant History

The thing that notable about the space that Hawaiian Donut Company arranged to keep, permanently, will remind many folks of a restaurant that used to be at that location; right across (to the south) from Lake Loveland. The space was once home to Dude Corral, a motel/gas station/restaurant, for decades; then it was a restaurant known as Jerry Bob's

From Restaurants to Dermatology and Health

The building went through a major renovation, including adding the long front porch, and became the Lake Loveland Inn. People would book wedding reservations there; it was great that Loveland had such a nice venue right by the lake. But in the late 90s the building became a dermatology center, the second business of which along with Wellness Restoration were there as of 2026.

According to BizWest and the Reporter-Herald, the owners of Hawaiian Donut Company began leasing out part of the building for storage, incorporated the porch into their setup.

With Hawaiian Donut Company having a permanent spot on the east side of the parking lot of the businesses, they also gained some seating up on that great porch. Now, customers can sit, enjoy their malasadas and a drink while taking in the beauty of Lake Loveland. They're open Wednesday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

How Long Has Hawaiian Donut Company Been in Northern Colorado?

Hawaiian Donut Company got there start around Northern Colorado in the summer of 2025, according to their Facebook; they would do business in Loveland and in Berthoud. With it still being a food truck, there's always the possibility of seeing them out of their permanent space from time to time.
