After 16 years and 87 million dollars Fort Collins MAX Rapid Transit bus service is finally fully operational. The 1st bus left the South Transit Center at 11 a.m. on Saturday.  It is an amazing achievement considering what it took to make this project happen.

There were deals with the railroad and CSU and many land owners along the Mason Corridor that were key in making this project happen. Now Fort Collins has a bus that runs from the South Transit Center, just south of Harmony Road to the North Transit Center, just north of Laporte Ave.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday, 5 a.m. until Midnight, with arrivals every 10 minutes during peak hours and every 30 minutes during evenings and weekends.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

MAX service will be free to ride through August 25. This fall, MAX fares will likely be the same as Transfort's. Right now, a single fare ticket to ride Transfort, with one transfer, costs $1.25. All Transfort passes will be accepted on MAX.
