Fort Collins History – The Lincoln Center Was Lincoln Junior High
How many events have you attended at the Lincoln Center? I've been to dozens, even introducing a few acts to the stage myself, and even I didn't know this.
Technically, according to the Lincoln Center, the institution was Fort Collins High School when it opened in 1903. In 1925, it became Fort Collins Junior High after the new high school opened on Remington, and sometime in the 1930s, it became Lincoln Junior High.
In 1976, the building began its transformation into the Lincoln Center, as the school moved to its current location off of Vine between Shields and Taft Hill.
