’80s ‘Fletch’ Chimed in About DIA’s Southwest Plane Trouble

When Denver International Airport joined the list of airports that have had a Boeing plane have issues, it wasn't funny. A couple of days later, a social-media post took a pretty funny shot at the incident.

In the incident that happened over DIA, the outer covering of one of the plane's engines began ripping off after takeoff. The plane returned to DIA and landed safely with no one injured.

When a post is dead-on, it's dead-on. This post on X, formerly Twitter, caught my  attention, and many other's attention as well.

One of the greatest comedies of the '80s was 'Fletch,' about an investigative newspaper reporter, Irwin M. 'Fletch' Fletcher (played by Chevy Chase,) who is trying to figure out why a rich man wants Fletch to kill him.

The movie sees Chevy Chase taking on many personas, including that of an airplane mechanic, though Fletch knows nothing about airplanes.

Nearly 40 years after that 1985 release, a plane engine's covering started to rip off while in flight, as captured below:
