If you're heading to Horsetooth Resevoir or the Drake Farmers Market, take note that Drake road will be closed Saturday, September 28. Both directions near the railroad tracks, just west of College, will be closed all day for asphalt repair.

City of Fort Collins Press Release:

Drake Road will experience a one-day full closure just west of McClelland Drive while City streets crews complete asphalt repairs. This past winter Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad completed railroad track repairs but due to low temperatures, City crews could not perform permanent asphalt repairs on either side of the tracks.

This closure is needed to replace the temporary asphalt surface at that location with a permanent asphalt surface. These repairs are necessary to keep the crossing surface safe for the traveling public.

The closure is scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, and is scheduled to re-open by 5 p.m. the same day.

Primary detour routes are Prospect Road, S. College Avenue, Horsetooth Road, and S. Shields Street.

Pedestrian and bicycle traffic can detour via McClelland Drive, Mason Trail, and Bay Road / Redwing Road (See attached detour map).

Business access will be maintained at all times.
