Downtown Fort Collins is the perfect place for St. Patrick's Day festivities. The parade, the weather (which is almost always perfect), the folks wearing green and visiting local pubs and restaurants, and the big annual 5K, the "Sharin' O The Green.

Each year, Partners Mentoring Youth hosts this event and it grows bigger each time. It also marks the beginning of the 5K season for many avid runners. This race is a Boulder-Boulder qualifier, so though there is the fun aspect of it for many, there is also a layer of importance for others. This really is a 5K for all. Walk, run, or a great event to be a part of.

I recently had Vanessa Lewis from Partners Mentoring Youth in the studio to talk about the event and the great things the organization does for kids in the area.
