The Colorado Independent is reporting that the Denver school district, security officers and employees are no longer allowed to place elementary children in handcuffs. The school board voted to end the practice Thursday in a unanimous vote.

High school and middle school students have not been affected. However, the board says the frequency of handcuff use will be greatly decreased in the older grades.
