Join me as I travel around Northern Colorado in search of 'NoCo's Greatest Pie.' This week a stop into Old Town Fort Collins and Surfside 7.

Folks here at the radio station have been suggesting (I should say strongly suggesting) that I check out Surfside 7's slices. So that's what I, my cohort Jake along with his wife Mari, I did after work on February 5, 2020.

A popular 'punk' hang-out at night, Surfside 7 serves up New York-style pies and slices. BIG foldable slices with a thin, crunchy crust. Slices start at $4.

We ordered three slices: green chili and sausage, sausage and onion, and pepperoni and green pepper.

The sausage and pepperoni were spot-on and the vegetables were 'true' fresh; for example, the mushrooms and green peppers weren't 'sauteed. We all enjoyed our choices.

Keep in mind, they open at 3 p.m. and cater to the late-night crowd mostly. It's not a 'softball team' kind of joint. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Google Reviews (261 of them) give Surfside 7 an average of 4.4 stars. I'm going to agree.

My 'Pizza My Heart' Review: 4.4 Pepperonis out of 5. However, I'm guessing if you show up late at night after seeing a show or what-not, it gets 4.5.

Thanks, gang. Keep up the great work.
