Loveland's Dairy Delite is one of Colorado's most-popular spots for ice cream, hot dogs, burgers and more. It's not just locals who love them, but also the summer tourists on their way to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Dairy Delite Made a Change to Things With the 2025 Ice Cream Season

Since 1978, the small Dairy Delite has been in operation on the west side of Loveland; it's red roof and marquee sign are practically Loveland landmarks. It's Dairy Delite's popularity, combined with a small building, that lead to them making a big change in 2025: The dining room would no longer be open to customers.

Having grown up in Loveland I've been to Dairy Delite many times, so finding out that you can't go in anymore did come as a bit of a shock. Hundreds of thousands of kids and adults had probably been through those doors and stared up and the big menu, choosing their treat for the day. Again, it's their popularity that brought about the change.

Why Did Dairy Delite in Loveland Close Off Their Inside Seating?

Dairy Delite's Manger, Ben, posted on Facebook that the change was needed to not only make more room for product to keep up with demand, but also because of the heat during the season.

With the small dining/ordering area, and people lined up out the door, it became too hard to keep things cool inside; that was hard on equipment and the few customers who could actually sit down (they didn't have many tables.)

How Do Things Work Now, At Dairy Delite?

Now, they use carhops, solely. Some people like it, some people aren't fans. But with every change, there's going to be some frustration. Years from now, people will only know of there being carhop service at Dairy Delite, and they'll love it.
